The three Hilton hotels in Seychelles have got new general managers.
They are Gregory Thierion, who will be heading the Hilton Seychelles Northolme Resort & Spa and the DoubleTree by Hilton Seychelles Allamanda Resort & Spa, and Andre Borg, the new GM for Hilton Seychelles Labriz Resort & Spa.
A reception was held recently to welcome the two new managers and at the same time to pay tribute to the outgoing cluster general manager of Hilton Seychelles Hotels Claus Steiner, who after four years in Seychelles will be moving on to another role within Hilton Worldwide.
Present at the reception were the Minister for Tourism and Culture Alain St Ange, the Minister for Social Affairs, Community Development and Sports Vincent Meriton, tourism principal secretary Anne Lafortune, among other local dignitaries and members of the business community.
Minister St Ange congratulated Mr Steiner on his achievements over the last few years as a true partner for the Seychelles tourism industry and who has played an active role in the development of hospitality for the resorts as well as the people of Seychelles.
A number of key milestones have been achieved within the Hilton Seychelles hotels in the last four years where the resorts have won 19 awards from international organisations like the World Travel Awards, Global Traveller Awards and Tripadvisor lauding us as the Best Resort in Africa and Indian Ocean’s Leading Spa Resort among others.
At the end of 2015 Hilton Seychelles Northolme Resort & Spa opened the much awaited 16 luxury pool villas with a two-bedroom presidential villa with the largest private in-villa pool in the North part of Mahé.
DoubleTree by Hilton Seychelles Allamanda Resort & Spa opened in January 2014 and is highly successful not only in a financial perspective but also in the local community by being awarded the Community Care Award for Europe, Middle East and Africa Hotels within the Doubletree Brand for its contribution within the local community.
From a business perspective Mr Steiner has looked at synergies and opportunities to maximize resources and performance within his teams by implementing a cluster structure within departments like Business Development, Finance, Purchasing and IT.
In the wider community Mr Steiner serves as Board of Trustee member for the Silhouette Foundation as well as a member of the Mentoring Committee for the Seychelles Tourism Academy and Shannon College graduates to impart knowledge and expertise for the future leaders in hospitality.
Mr Steiner said: “It has been a great pleasure to discover Seychelles, one of the last paradises on Earth and to be able to lead three extraordinary resorts, each unique and successful in its own right. It is now time to welcome the new leaders to take the helm at Hilton Seychelles hotels to take them to the next level.”
