STB was represented by Aswini Krishna and Shakambri Soni from its representation office in India, while Travstarz was represented by Hema Manghnani, Ramanpreet Singh and Vani Singh.
The well-attended roadshow stimulated much interest and enthusiasm about the destination in all three cities.
India has been witnessing year-on-year growth in the number of visitors coming to Seychelles.
Some 6,527 Indian visitors have come to Seychelles so far this year, compared to 5,427 for the same period in 2017, representing a 20 percent increase.
The recent roadshow was aimed at creating awareness about the destination among the right set of travel trade partners in the smaller cities, to further increase visitor numbers from India.
The STB Chief Executive, Sherin Francis, said: “We realised early on in our journey that high-end travellers are no longer limited to the main metros and a testimony to the same is the encouraging response we have had from every smaller city where we have conducted workshops over the past few years.”
“It is thanks to this diversification strategy that India made it to the list of Seychelles’ top 10 source markets, further improving to become the 7th top market in 2017, when 20 perecnt more Indian tourists came to Seychelles compared to 2016,” Mrs Francis added.
It is the second consecutive year that STB has partnered with Travstarz Global Group, which is actively promoting and selling Seychelles in India as they have good trade relations.
Travstarz Global Group is an outbound DMC offering dedicated and exclusive B2B services in the travel & Tourism industry.
Established in 2008, the group was acquired by RezB2B.com, a CTRIP Subsidiary in 2018, to launch the group’s B2B business in the Indian Sub-Continent and other adjoining regions.
The Executive Director of Travstarz Global Group, Hema Manghnani, said Seychelles remains one of their preferred destinations.
“We are increasingly signing new properties in Seychelles to offer the best experience across all category of hotels. All the 3 cities were very well attended, and it gave us an opportunity to re-connect with our agent partners who have been supporting us for our various destinations and who have assured us support for Seychelles as well. We have been closely working with Seychelles Tourism Board in the past and will look forward to future collaborations as well to boost the numbers to Seychelles,” said Ms. Manghnani.
