{"id":8954,"date":"2025-12-15T09:42:00","date_gmt":"2025-12-15T05:42:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/tourism.gov.sc\/?p=8954"},"modified":"2025-12-15T09:42:00","modified_gmt":"2025-12-15T05:42:00","slug":"seychelles-nature-trail-returns-on-16-may-2026-for-a-3rd-edition-in-2026","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/tourism.gov.sc\/?p=8954","title":{"rendered":"Seychelles Nature Trail Returns on 16 May 2026 for a 3rd Edition in 2026"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Following the resounding success of its second edition held in August this year, Tourism Seychelles announces the return of the Seychelles Nature Trail (SNT) for a third edition, scheduled to take place on 16th May 2026 on the island of Mah\u00e9.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The event, which has quickly established itself as one of the international highlights on Seychelles\u2019 sporting and experiential tourism calendar, once again promises to showcase the island\u2019s breathtaking nature.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Like in the previous editions, the 2026 race promises runners a high-energy 22 km challenge, featuring a demanding 1,210m elevation gain across some of Mah\u00e9\u2019s most striking natural landscapes. Runners will set off from Port Glaud, navigating a spectacular route through Cap Ternay, Anse Major, Mare aux Cochons, Cassedent, and Tomassin, before powering toward the finish at Grand Anse. The race blends coastline, forest, and mountain terrain\u2014technical, and is suited to all levels.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Seychelles Nature trail continues to champion sports tourism and celebrate Seychelles\u2019 unmatched biodiversity, offering runners an immersive journey through some of the archipelago\u2019s natural parks.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Speaking about the event, Ms Bernadette Honor\u00e9, Senior Marketing Executive for the R\u00e9union and Indian Ocean Market at Tourism Seychelles, explained that the Seychelles Nature Trail is designed to attract international, regional, and local trail runners, while also inspiring Seychellois athletes to embrace the sport and discover the country\u2019s wild beauty up close.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cThe Seychelles Nature Trail is a powerful showcase of our islands\u2019 granitic attributes and a key driver in positioning Seychelles as a premier nature and sport tourism destination. This edition once again features one of our most diverse routes, combining athletic intensity with amazing picture-perfect scenery.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>She highlighted the growing international appeal of the Seychelles Nature Trail, noting that nearly one-third of participants in the most recent edition were international runners from Asia, Africa, and Europe.
