Celebrating the 35th edition of the IBTM Trade Fair, Tourism Seychelles took to the capital city of Catalonia in Barcelona to showcase the diversified product on offer for the MICE market segment. Tourism Seychelles was represented by Bernadette Willemin, the Director General Destination Marketing, Judeline Edmond, Director Marketing and Monica Gonzalez, Senior Marketing Executive.
The event fostered a multitude of networking opportunities for Tourism Seychelles. The delegation members had the chance to engage with the relevant buyers from different regions of the world, form relationships, and expand business through highly targeted pre-scheduled appointments.
For this edition of IBTM, Tourism Seychelles put a lot of emphasis on promoting the many infrastructures that the islands have in place to accommodate customers that travel for meetings, events, conferences and other incentives required in the business travel industry.
Director General Bernadette Willemin commented on the success of Tourism Seychelles participation this time around, saying, “Incentives and Conferencing in Seychelles is now a real possibility. It is thus important that Tourism Seychelles is present at such key trade shows such as IBTM World to keep our islands top of mind with qualified international buyers and provides our industry partners with a platform to build relationships and convert business.”
The Seychelles Islands have benefited from marked increase in air access capacity as recently some companies have increased their flight frequencies. On the home ground more hotels are today equipped with conference facilities and modern technology to accommodate meetings and conferencing. All the ingredients are there for the Seychelles Islands to secure extra business.
