As part of their marketing initiatives, Tourism Seychelles’ representatives in Italy scheduled a few educational activities in November to entice the Italian market and promote Seychelles as a destination.
The program began with an ECO Luxury workshop hosted by Viaggi dell’Elefante Tour Operator in Rome from November 10th to 12th. The session included one-on-one discussions with travel agencies.
Following the two-day event, a four-day training aboard the MSC Sinfonia cruise ship, titled “BluVacanze-Going Academy”, was held from November 12th to 16th. The training targeted 50 selected travel agents, who were trained through one-on-one sessions and video presentations.
Another workshop was held in Padua and Verona from November 16th to 17th. The Glamour Tour Operator training unfolded as a two-day dinner and presentation event with at least 25 agents present from each city.
Most recently, a public relations event was organised on November 25th in Naples in collaboration with Volonline/Teorema Tour Operator and saw an attendance of around 300 travel agents. The event provided good networking opportunities for the guests.
To complement the PR event in Naples, another was held on November 26th, in collaboration with Viaggi Nel Mondo TO. The evening event was sponsored solely by Tourism Seychelles. Present at the event, Ms Danielle Di Gianvito, Tourism Seychelles’ marketing representative for Italy, gave a presentation on the destination to about 80 participants.
The final event for November will take place on the 30th with the NAAR TO. The session will take place in Bologna, with 25 travel agents anticipated to attend the full-day training.
After the completion of each workshop, attendees are handed Seychelles brochures and maps, as well as various Tourism Seychelles branded tokens. Overall, the activities are focused on raising awareness of the destination and building confidence in travel agencies that sell Seychelles to their clients. The sessions also provided a chance for agents and TOs to network. The previous activities were fruitful, and the forthcoming appears to be just as promising.
