Tourism Seychelles recently exhibited at two major events in the United States – the Beneath the Sea Exhibition and the ASTA Trade Show – to promote the destination’s stunning natural beauty and adventurous activities, such as birding, snorkelling, sailing, and diving.
At the Beneath the Sea exhibition, a consumer Scuba and Dive Travel Show held in New Jersey between 25th to 26th March, Tourism Seychelles showcased the archipelago’s spectacular underwater world to the diving community, highlighting its warm turquoise waters and superb diving sites that are perfect for exploring the oldest granite and coral waters of the Indian Ocean. The exhibition was a resounding success, with many visitors showing keen interest in Seychelles’ unique offerings.
Present at the exhibition, Mr David Germain, the Tourism Seychelles Regional Director for Africa & the Americas, commented, “Seychelles’ participation at this important diving exhibition was a first for Seychelles in North America, and I am very encouraged and satisfied with the outcome of our participation. The message conveyed to the participants was that besides being a very sought-after “exotic island holiday destination” for the North American traveller, the archipelago is also perfect for sailing, snorkelling, diving, and other sea-related activities, and it was well received by the diving community present at the exhibition.”
Tourism Seychelles also exhibited at a trade event, the ASTA Trade Show, which took place on 28th March in Totowa, New Jersey, where they established new contacts and provided destination and product updates to trade partners. ASTA is the American Society of Travel Advisors, a leading association of travel professionals and prominent global advocate for travel advisors.
“Seychelles continues to register a steady growth year on year from the North American market since 2018. It is thus essential to continue to educate the travel trade about Seychelles, especially the travel agents, as they have great power to influence and direct consumer demands. They are a liaison between supply & demand and thus essential partners for Seychelles in North America,” added Mr Germain.
