Tourism Seychelles participated in the 17th Tourism Trade International Fair and Congress, held in December 2023, under the theme “Start Travelling the World Here”. The event brought together tourism professionals from around the globe in Izmir, Turkey.
Actively engaging in this prestigious event, Tourism Seychelles contributed to the vibrant atmosphere with a 12sqm stand, showcasing the unique allure of the Seychelles archipelago.
The event witnessed over 5000 B2B meetings, fostering connections and relationships within the tourism industry. More than 170 international hosted buyers and direct consumers engaged with Tourism Seychelles representatives, Mrs. Amia Jovanovic-Desir and Mrs. Tracy Muntanga.
The primary focus of Tourism Seychelles’ participation was to enhance destination awareness, visibility and stimulate demand for travel to Seychelles.
The Seychelles stand, adorned with decorative images, featured the iconic Coco-de-Mer, captivating underwater scenes, and picturesque beaches framed by granite boulders. This unique representation set Seychelles apart from competitors, drawing the attention of tour operators and visitors alike.
Recognising a knowledge gap about Seychelles, especially its location, Tourism Seychelles provided the opportunity for attendees to view destination videos and learn more about the attractions and offerings through presentations.
The fair also facilitated connections with leading media partners, setting the stage for future coverage and features on Seychelles. Invitations will be extended for coverage in Istanbul, Ankara, Izmir, and other potential growth cities.
Plans are underway to intensify promotional activities in key Turkish cities to generate increased interest and demand for travel. Ongoing training for tour operators and agents remains crucial to increasing demand for travel to Seychelles.
Tourism Seychelles views its participation in the Izmir fair as a resounding success, with valuable insights gained, partnerships forged, and a commitment to furthering Seychelles’ position in the Turkish travel market.
