Seychelles Named “Dream Destination of the Year” at 2026 Blue Legacy Awards in Singapore

Seychelles was named “Dream Destination of the Year” at the 2026 Blue Legacy Awards, presented during the SeaKeepers Asia Ocean Conservation Gala Dinner in Singapore on April 10.

“This recognition reflects Seychelles’ long-standing commitment to protecting its marine environment while promoting responsible travel,” said Mrs Amia Jovanovic-Desir, Manager for Southeast Asia, Australasia, Israel and Turkey at the Ministry of Tourism.

The award was presented by Mr John Thet, Chief Executive Officer of ADEX (Asia Dive Expo), recognising Seychelles’ marine environment and its position as a leading ocean destination.

Organised by The International SeaKeepers Society Asia, the gala brought together stakeholders from marine science, conservation, diving and tourism to highlight initiatives supporting ocean protection.

The event also marked the first gala dinner in Singapore hosted by UW360, a subsidiary of ADEX, underscoring growing regional momentum around ocean conservation and sustainable marine tourism.

The Blue Legacy Awards recognise destinations and organisations demonstrating leadership in ocean conservation and marine tourism.

Seychelles is known for its coral reefs and marine biodiversity, with more than 50% of its land protected and 30% of its marine territory designated as Marine Protected Areas.

Tourism Seychelles said it will continue working with conservation partners and industry stakeholders to support sustainable tourism and preserve the country’s ecosystems.
