Tourism Seychelles and Discover Airlines have officially marked the launch of the airline’s inaugural flight from Frankfurt to Seychelles, strengthening the archipelago’s air connectivity to Europe and broadening access for international travelers.
The milestone was celebrated on Monday, 27 October, with a cocktail reception at L’Escale Resort Marina & Spa, attended by leaders from the tourism and aviation sectors. Discover Airlines will operate twice-weekly flights between Frankfurt and Seychelles, supporting the destination’s ongoing efforts to diversify its European market presence.
Among those in attendance were Sherin Francis, Principal Secretary for Tourism; David Bianchi, Principal Secretary for Civil Aviation, Ports and Marine; Bernadette Willemin, Director General for Destination Marketing; Paul Lebon, Director General for Product Development; Garry Albert, CEO of the Seychelles Civil Aviation Authority (SCAA); Colin Chang-Tave, CEO of the Seychelles Airports Authority (SAA); Sandy Benoiton, CEO of Air Seychelles; and government representative Wallace Cosgrow.
Bernd Bauer, CEO of Discover Airlines, expressed his enthusiasm for the partnership, reaffirming the airline’s commitment to connecting travelers to the Seychelles’ “exceptional natural beauty and warm hospitality.”
Guests enjoyed a relaxed evening of Creole-inspired cuisine, cocktails, and live local music, which captured the vibrant spirit and culture of the islands.
This new connection marks a significant milestone in strengthening Seychelles’ position as a premier Indian Ocean destination, offering greater convenience for European visitors and supporting the country’s tourism growth strategy.
