Tourism Seychelles Strengthens Presence in Türkiye at EMITT 2026

Tourism Seychelles reinforced its visibility in the Turkish market at the 29th edition of the East Mediterranean International Travel and Tourism Exhibition (EMITT), held from 5–7 February 2026 at the Istanbul Expo Center.

The destination was represented by Mrs. Amia Jovanovic-Desir, Market Manager, and Ms. Christina Cecile, Marketing Executive, both based in Seychelles. Their participation focused on strengthening destination awareness, building trade partnerships, and stimulating demand for travel to the islands.

Türkiye continues to show promising growth potential, with arrivals increasing by 32% over the past three years, highlighting rising interest in Seychelles as a long-haul holiday destination.

The Seychelles stand attracted strong interest throughout the three-day exhibition, featuring vibrant destination visuals and promotional content showcasing the archipelago’s natural beauty and diverse experiences. Tourism Seychelles also engaged with travel trade professionals and media representatives, creating new opportunities to expand collaboration and increase destination exposure.

Visitors were introduced to Seychelles’ tourism offering through destination presentations and promotional videos, highlighting the variety of experiences available across the islands and the range of services provided by local tourism partners.

Commenting after the event, Mrs. Jovanovic-Desir noted that EMITT remains one of the region’s most important travel trade platforms, hosting 288 international buyers representing 237 companies from 59 countries.

“Our participation at EMITT provided an invaluable opportunity to connect with key trade partners and media representatives, laying the groundwork for future collaborations to increase Seychelles’ visibility and media coverage in the market. Remaining consistently visible is essential as we build long-term demand,” she said.

She also highlighted the importance of continued training for travel professionals to strengthen product knowledge, particularly in promoting the concept of island hopping, a unique experience that sets Seychelles apart in a competitive market.

“Many agents shared that clients who have previously travelled to similar destinations are now actively seeking new alternatives. There is strong willingness among partners to position Seychelles as the next preferred destination,” she added.

Participation at EMITT 2026 strengthened Seychelles’ market positioning and provided valuable insight into evolving traveller preferences. The event further supported Tourism Seychelles’ efforts to drive sustainable growth and increase visitor arrivals from Türkiye and beyond.
